ONware supports applications written with Visual J++, Visual Basic,
or other Windows development environments that support COM object
interfaces.
This feature of ONware emulates UniObjects, IBM’s object interface
for U2 applications. ONobjects allows developers of U2 applications
to use these systems with Oracle, SQL Server and other relational
and object-relational databases.
Data is read using “dynamic array” objects with easy access
to complex, MultiValued, data structures employed by U2 business
applications. ONobjects implements the same objects supported by
UniObjects, such as Session, File, Dynamic Array.
SELECT, LIST, Dictionary, Command, Sequential File, and
cataloged Subroutines. Applications with the UniObjects
ActiveX control replaced with ONobjects function as
originally written for the U2 environments, though UniVerse
or UniData is no longer the run-machine.

No need to reengineer to deploy on Oracle or SQL Server. Developers
continue to benefit by taking advantage of Microsoft COM technology for
new GUI application interfaces, while maximizing the use of existing
business rules, through the re-use of cataloged subroutines.
ONobjects provides ONware’s interface to Visual Basic and any other
programming environment that uses Microsoft’s OLE automation interface.
ONobjects uses the database client access mechanisms to access data
on the database server. The database may be located on any server on
the network running in a Unix or Windows environment.
ONobjects is an integrated feature of ONware™ from ONgroup. For
