ONware™ Features

Structured Migration ONware provides a structure for the planning, budgeting, design and implementation of application migration, conversion and integration to and with relational technology.

ONware provides tools that facilitate:

  • Database analysis and modelling
  • Application re-hosting
  • Data re-structuring without application re-engineering, for example from 3-dimensional nested tables to standard relational tables

Superior Search Functions ONware includes a very fast application-independent and technology-independent search engine with a Global Data Dictionary and other data management augmentations to the underlying database management systems.

ONObjects™ is an Active X object library that is a compatible superset of IBM’s U2 module, UniObjects. ONware Objects enable the use of Visual Basic and Java to provide Windows-based graphical presentation to existing legacy applications.

ONware Client provides a user interface integrating Windows applications with enterprise applications. ONware Client promotes technology independence by insulating applications with a dynamic, user-configurable choice of Windows graphical presentation or character presentation for widely used terminal variations and Windows workstations.

ONware Support for Macintosh ONware provides a user interface integrating Macintosh application with enterprise applications. ONware promotes technology independence by insulating applications with a dynamic, user-configurable choice of Macintosh graphical presentation or character presentation for widely used terminal variations and Macintosh workstations

Blacksmith® Visual Developer is a visual 4GL Rapid Application Development environment. Blacksmith reduces the time and cost of business system development and maintenance by providing standardization of global business rules and GUI drag and drop screen development. Double-click or drill-down to access lower level objects.

With ONware applications perform I/O natively with standard relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server as well as the common MultiValue databases such as UniVerse and UniData. ONware has a unique ability to concurrently support Windows GUI, Macintosh GUI and text based dumb terminals. Developers can build applications with Windows drag-n-drop WISIWYG technology and still deploy the applications to the dumb terminal users out in the warehouse; all from a single source.

ONware Publisher's web publishing components are in use in over 750 web sites providing companies powerful though easy to use tools to manage their web applications. These tools incorporate a consistent, browser-based user-interface to allow non-technical users to easily and rapidly maintain and update their content.
